Comprehensive Admissions Policy MSC conducts a comprehensive review of all applications for admission, involving an academic review and evaluation of personal achievements and life challenges. The policy and process described below represents the implementation of the MSC Comprehensive Admissions Policy in selecting the freshman class at MSC. Due to the nature and level of study required for student at MSC, not only the level of academic study but also the nature of being 100% on line requires a much more discipline regiment study for the students. There is a great deal of independent research, reading and written work required above that of a traditional college campuses course of study. Our course of study requires disciplines in learning two languages, translating biblical text, cultural study, biblical and biblical theology studies. Therefore we try to select students we believe will be up to the task of studies disciplines necessary to complete our degrees, our goal is that a biblical education be provide for every one who desires, but being sensitive to the fact that not all can meet the academic study requirements of our college. Campus-specific Admissions Principles and Goals MSC is most interested in students who challenge themselves academically; applicants who attempt the most rigorous course work and are successful at achieving the highest levels of performance are the most competitive. Students are selected from across the applicant pool, where merits are defined beyond the standard academic measures, which include but are not limited to, grades, test scores, and academic subjects completed. Although academic factors are important for selection, passion for God, His word and to serve Him personal goals, are greatly taken into account during the decision process. Ways to Earn Credit for Prior Learning and life experience.To ApplyYou have to apply in two stages: Via Electronic Application first for a Tentative Admission. The first one is quick, does not cost you anything, and tells you quickly about your tentative status with MSC. Electronic Application : Send us the information asked in the Electronic Application Form and have your two references come the Website and fill out the appropriate reference from. (At this stage you do not have to worry abound sending us transcripts). Our Admission Committee will screen you Electronic Application, and decide where you can be admitted in the current year. We will then Email back and inform your status within two weeks, we might ask for further information from you in order to make our decision. This represents only your TENTATIVE student status. It is in your own interest to get a tentative admission because the number of students admitted per course has an upper limit every year. With applicants from over two dozen countries, it is always good to seek an earlier admission. Further, Electronic Application does not cost you anything except a bit of time. Once you receive the information about your tentative status, you have to send relevant transcripts and certificates, in order to receive credit for classes taken or degrees earned. Your tentative studentship will be changed to confirmed studentship after the committee examines all the academic and spiritual evidences submitted by you. RECOMMENDATIONS All applicants must meet the following admission requirements plus the additional requirements for each degree. Two letters of reference. References should be from professors or employers who have knowledge of academic ability and potential. Official copies of all transcripts from the college or university that granted any degrees and any other institution attended if you wish to receive credit for them. Write a 350 word composition explaining your desire to attend Mount Sinai College. Include:
Minimum High School Grade Point Average: 2.5--based on a 4.0 scale-- Minimum test scores: ACT = 24, SAT = 1126 (Test score is not needed if student has been out of High School for five years or more, or has accumulated 30 or more units of college credit.) Minimum College Grade Point Average 3.56--based on a 4.0 scale--for transfer student For students whose first language is not English, they must submit an officially reported Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score (minimum of 550). Graduate Additional Requirements All applicants are required to have a bachelor's level degree from an approved college or university with at least a 3.0 G.P.A. for full acceptance. The Director of Admissions and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, with advisement from the Graduate Academic Committee, may grant probationary acceptance if other factors give evidence of the applicant's ability to successfully complete a program. The probationary status will be removed when the student has successfully completed nine semester units with a 3.0 G.P.A. or better. Note: Applicants seeking entry into a Graduate degree program may qualify for admission without a B.A. if they a) are at least 35 years of age, 2) have a minimum of 10 years of full time ministry experience. Initial acceptance will be provisional and admissions numbers are limited.
